A small traditional shelter for 1 – 2 people. The Minilaavu is an open-sided shelter, allowing you to enjoy the warmth of an open fire and the beauty of the outdoors while still being sheltered from wind and rain. The door can be pitched open as shown in the photo to provide a large porch area with clear views of the forest, or pitched lower to the ground providing enhanced protection from the elements. The Minilaavu performs at its best with a campfire lit in front of it, and in cold conditions the door should be kept open with the campfire maintained to keep the camper warm throughout the day and night. The shape of the shelter allows for a level of heat retention, while the aluminium lining of the fabric reflects heat and light back onto the user. With correct use, the smoke from the campfire can also be utilised to keep away mosquitos and other biting insects.

The Minilaavu can be pitched between two trees or with the use of hiking poles or sticks, using the included cord. The roof of the shelter extends past the rear wall by 75 cm, providing a protected storage space behind the laavu.

Great quality and design. Used it in very cold and wet conditions as a woodland shelter with a fire and it worked a treat!
